Just off the South Gippsland Highway, on the way to Wilsons Promontory, you’ll find a cellar door that’s become a favourite stop for locals and weekenders alike — Gippsland Wine Company in Loch.

Owned and run by Mark and Jane, Gippsland Wine Company is best known for its award-winning cool-climate wines, including Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, all crafted with care on the Loch Village Vineyard. The cellar door reflects the laid-back character of the region — think rolling pastures, maritime breezes, and a strong sense of place.

Mark brings over 40 years of experience in wine production, marketing and judging, with time spent in the Barossa, Clare and Yarra Valleys before settling in Gippsland. He’s helped revive neglected vineyards across the region, building long-term relationships and coaxing vines back to life — all with the goal of showcasing the unique biodiversity and soil of South Gippsland.

The wine labels themselves feature local flora and fauna, celebrating the natural diversity of the region — a refreshing contrast to monoculture agriculture. If you visit, be sure to try a tasting flight and grab a bottle of their elegant Sangiovese.

And now, you’ll find something cold and canned in the fridge, too — Brewers Orchard cider is proudly poured alongside their wines.
